October 21st:
The AHCC went to Hollywood!! What a gorgeous New England fall day we had on Sunday, October 21st for out schooling show at Hollywood Equine. They are located in Ellington, CT, and generously donated their facility to us for the day to hold our show! They had just built a beautiful new indoor which was a glorious place to hold our classes. We broke a record for the number of rides that were taken and it was 246. Yes, 246! Incredible!! Thank you, Heather for your hospitality, charm, helpful volunteers and great food!! We had such a wonderful time! We had many compliments on the food, the facility, and the friendly atmosphere. We look forward to returning there in the spring! We had a trail class with the obstacles set up in another ring and our judge for this was our own, Avryl Holden. Thank you! Our Ring judge was Anya Long, had a very long day on her feet...we do so appreciate that. Our logo apparel , as well as the new screen print design, sold briskly! Please join us on October 28 at Double A Arabins for our next show. Then our last show will be in November at Hayes Equestrian.

Schooling Shows:
Our Double A Schooling show finally took place after two cancellations due to crazy weather. With cloudy skies looming forth, our day began right on schedule. Pat Eldridge, of Eldridge Equine Center was our judge, and kept things light and fun with our exhibitors. Giving helpful friendly advice when needed. Angela Lent, Dee Bowen, Barbara Reynolds, Michelle Laudano, Lisa Rader, Amy Rader-Johnson, Deb Thompson, Kasey Brann, and Gina Rivezzi were all an enormous help. Our well organized secretary, Terry Henning, dots the i’s and crosses those t’s! Thank you just doesn’t seem like it is enough.
WOW! 90 rides, record breaking raffle ticket sales, tee shirt sales, and more new members! Kelsy Urban was present with her embellished designs. Various denim items, and hand bags all spruced up with saworski crystals. Thirty percent of her proceeds are used to purchase mosquito netting for the children of Africa to help with the prevention of Malaria from mosquito bites. Hats off to this young lady.

Annual A Show:
Our 35th A Show was a record breaking success! Hats off to Melissa Wooten, chairman, and her committee for our 35th Annual A show. With months of planning, countless hours of work, and lots of ideas this years show proved to be a winner.
Our entries were up approximately 30 horses from last year, which brought us back up to the average number of horses shown in the past. Our exhibitors and their horses arrived to The Eastern States Fairgrounds in West Springfield, Mass. to find a welcome bag of delicious apple and oat horse cookies, donated by Lakeside Feed of 31 Lake Drive, Guilford, Connecticut.
Each and every day were treated to fresh bagels, muffins, and donuts that were delivered to our hospitality booth from Donut Dip, who is celebrating 50 years of business this year! Along with our breakfast fare, orange juice, tea, cocoa, and freshly brewed coffee, which was served with a warm smile and a good morning greeting from our very own AHCC President, Barbara Reynolds.
Friday afternoon our exhibitors and guests were treated to our Ice Cream Social, generously donated by Jeff and Gina Murphy of Murphy Farm & Equine Sales. Saturday there were Legion of Honor presentations for the Foti family & CH ASIIL + and the Disapio family with Sloane Roncaioli & S ABIJAHN PF +. Our congratulations for a job well done! After the last class that evening everyone, even our hard working secretary, Marlene Kriegbaum, enjoyed the progressive aisle party.
